How it started
Basket That began in Redding, California, with a frustration we think a lot of people share: storage products that fall apart after one season, look like they belong in a warehouse, and end up in a landfill faster than they should.
We set out to find storage baskets and organizers that could actually hold up to daily life — laundry days, toy explosions, pantry restocks, craft room chaos — and still look good sitting in the middle of a room. What we found was that the best baskets came from makers using natural materials and time-tested techniques: handwoven wicker, seagrass, cotton rope, bamboo, and solid wood.
Today, every product in our collection is chosen for three things: it has to be functional enough to use every day, durable enough to last for years, and beautiful enough that you won't want to hide it in a closet.
